316: How to accomplish what you want when you don't know where to start - a conversation w/ Mandy K.

On Air with Ella Podcast episode 316 - everywhere you get podcasts!

When Mandy reached out to me in 2021, she was fed up.

She had just listened to On Air with Ella episode 139: Why We Do What We Do - Retrain Your Brain with Jim Fortin, and reached out to me in Instagram wanting to know more about how I applied those concepts to make real change in my own life.

When we chatted, we realized that more people would be interested in this conversation...

So we recorded it!

WHAT WE TALK ABOUT

  • Mandy's journey on the weight loss roller coaster and the deprivation-binge cycle

  • Her fears and realizations around intuitive eating, and her discovery that mindset was the key all along

  • She talks about the changes she’s made in just the past 2 weeks - it’s pretty incredible

  • The real secret behind accomplishing what you want when can’t seem to start

  • What motivation actually looks like in action

  • Why Ella can’t really relate to wanting to "be happy," and how I think of it instead

  • 3 Questions to ask when you need to bust out of a rut, your limiting beliefs or negative self-talk:

1. What would I do “if”...?

(If I was already at peace with myself, If I was in the body that I wanted, If I was a person who worked out, If I took care of myself, If I loved myself…”)

2. Picture of yourself at six years old. What would you tell yourself?

3. Now you’re 86 years old. You’re looking back at you right now realizing that you were perfect. What do you wish you had done differently? What would you tell yourself?

Happiness is the joy that you feel in moving toward your potential.

ABOUT MANDY

I am a stay-at-home, work-from-home, homeschool mom. I’ve been married for over 22 years. My husband and I started a company together a year after we were married. We’re that weird couple that can actually be around each other all the time. I have a 26 year old stepson, a 15 year old daughter, and a 9 year old son. My hobbies are camping, photography, and recently learning to ride a motorcycle. I’m a 1 on the enneagram so finding ways to better myself is also probably a hobby! - Many Kellogg
